‘Rs4bn spent on Haripur uplift’

By Our Correspondent

HARIPUR, Sept 21: The former district nazim and a candidate for Oct 6 contest for the post, Dr Raja Amer Zaman, said on Wednesday that Rs4 billion were spent during the past four years on the development of neglected areas of Haripur. He pledged to make Haripur a model district if he was re-elected.

Speaking at a gathering of councillors and nazims at his Marchabad residence on Wednesday, Raja Zaman claimed that his performance vis-à-vis infrastructural development had been unprecedented.

The former nazim refuted the corruption charges levelled against him by his rival candidate, Yousuf Ayub Khan.

He accused Mr Ayub Khan of money laundering and taking commission from development funds during his tenure as a minister.
