Shamsa to lead women’s squad

LAHORE, Sept 19: Shamsa Hashmi will lead a 16-member Pakistan women’s cricket team against India U-21 team touring Pakistan from Sept 26. The visitors will play all four matches in Lahore.

Shamsa is also the secretary of the Women Wing of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The team was announced after holding one-day trials at Qadhafi Stadium on Sunday.

Three standbys have also been announced.

Taskeen Qadeer is the vice-captain.

Team: Shamsa Hashmi (captain), Taskeen Qadeer (vice-captain), Sana Javed, Arman Khan (wicket keepers), Sajida Shah, Urooj Khan, Asmavia Iqbal, Uzma Malik, Qarita Jalil, Nabeela Asaf, Nabila Gulzar, Sana Mir, Sabahat Rashid, Marrium Butt, Shumaila Mushtaq, Nazish Chaudhary.

Standbys: Naida Khan, Kanwal Naz, Sumaiya Siddique.
