Abduction case against seven registered

SAHIWAL, Sept 19: On the orders of the additional district and sessions judge, police have registered an abduction case against seven people. Reports said Zafar Ali in his petition stated that Abid, Sajid, Mazhar, Channa, Sultan Sikandra, Irfan and Sohail allegedly abducted him from the gate of Kassowal police station on Aug 28 over an election enmity and detained him for five days at a room. He said he managed to escape when they were taking him to some other place. He said the police did not register a case.

On the orders of the court, the Kassowal police have registered a case under Sections 365-506 of the PPC and started investigation with no arrests.

WAGON LOOTED: Robbers on Sunday night looted a passenger wagon on Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road near Chak 98/9-L Lakkanwala.

Reports said the dacoits intercepted the Pakpattan-bound van (DGI-3642) near Lakkanwala and took away Rs68,000 cash from passengers.
