Judo crown for Wapda

LAHORE, Sept 18: Wapda with 41 points won the national ranking judo championships with Waris Ali being declared the best judokas at the end of 10-day competition held at the National Sports Training and Coaching Centre on Sunday. In all, Wapda grabbed five gold medals, four silver and bronze medals each and led the table from day one.

Army’s Abid claimed a gold medal in the last event of Open weight category on Sunday to compele Army’s tally of medals to four gold, four silver and three bronze to earn the runners-up spot.

Police with only a silver medal in its kitty remained third.

Sindh secured a bronze medal to finish fourth.

Results:

Open weight: Abid bt Zahid; Gulzar bt Aslam, Abid bt Gulzar; Zahid bt Aslam; Abid bt Aslam; Zahid bt Gulzar.
