Three of family shot dead by absconders

SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 18: Three family members were shot dead and four others were injured seriously by two proclaimed offenders in Kanwanwali Sikhan village, some 75kms from here in Nankana district. POs Maqbool and Maqsood, the two brothers, had come to Sagheer Ahmad and demanded money from him. Sagheer, who came from England, got frightened and gave outlaws Rs6,000 and promised to provide them Rs50,000 further in due course of time. But the expatriate left the country on the advice of his relatives.

When POs came to know about his departure, they came to the outhouse of Mian Khalid and opened fire on the family members of Sagheer. As a result, Allah Ditta died instantly, while Sheraz Ahmad and Imran died at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, and Shahkot Hospital, respectively. While injured — Aleem Sabir, Riaz Ahmad, Zaheer Ahmad and Maqsood were shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
