Dealers warn against illegal sale of petrol

By Our Correspondent

BANNU, Sept 18: The All-Bannu Petrol Pump Dealers Association has warned that it would observe a strike soon if the authorities did not stop the illegal sale of petroleum in Bannu. The warning was given at a meeting of representatives of the All-Bannu Petrol Pump Dealers Association here on Sunday.

The association’s president, Mushtaq Ahmad, told reporters that more than 100 illegal agencies were selling petroleum products in Bannu.

Most of the petrol shops and agencies openly sell smug-gled petrol along the main roads.

The petrol pump dealers said that illegal filling stations and agencies posed a threat to people and environment.

They called upon the concerned quarters to check the illegal business to avert any untoward incident.

The meeting also decided that the petrol pumps owners would observe a strike if the administration failed to shut down the illegal business.
