PESHAWAR, Sept 18: A woman councillor of the Awami National Party has claimed that ANP and Jamaat-i-Islami candidates will form district and town governments in Peshawar.

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, Ms Shameem Qaisar Khan told a gathering of women councillors in Fatima-tuz-Zuhra school that the councillors and nazims of 92 union councils of Peshawar were backing ANP’s nominee for district nazimship, Haroon Bilour, and JI’s candidate Dr Iqbal Khaleel for Town Council 3 nazim.

She said women should unite under the banner of Watan Dost and Al-Khidmat groups backed by the Awami National Party and JI and strive for their rights.

Ms Khan said they should not be overconfident and act according to requirements of the sitution to win the district and town elections on Oct 6.
