KARACHI: Shab-i-Bara’at arrangements

KARACHI, Sept 18: Shab-i-Bara’at will be observed on Monday night with great religious fervour. Mosques would be illuminated and ulema will deliver sermons regarding the significance of Shab-i-Bara’at. Mehfil-i-Naat and Qirat would be organized on the occasion while dua will also be offered.

People will also visit graveyards to offer fateha and lay floral wreaths at the graves of their near and dear ones.

Ulema have appealed to the people not to use firecrackers.Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Secretary Fazalur Rehman has advised the police officials to ensure effective arrangements on the eve of “Shab-i-Barat.”

The chief secretary, according to a statement here on Saturday, asked the Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Regional Police Officer Sukkur and Hyderabad and all district coordination officers, to ensure security and smooth flow of traffic for the people visiting graveyards and mosques.

Besides, the chief secretary directed the TMOs to ensure proper functioning of street-lights in and around graveyards, and cleanliness of graveyards.
