KARACHI, Sept 17: The death of at least eight children was confirmed on Saturday in Karachi’s Landhi area where water-borne diseases had broken out on Friday, affecting about 1,100 people in two days.

The casualties took place in Dawood Challi where people consumed contaminated water. About 30 patients were brought to the Sindh Government Hospital, Korangi, and 250 to the Social Security Hospital, Landhi, on Saturday. However, the children died before getting any medical aid.
