Railways, Wapda share honours

LAHORE, Sept 17: Defending Champion, Wapda and Railways took the honours in the National wrestling championship on Saturday at Railways stadium. Both Wapda and Railways had four men in the final.

Wapda’s grapplers excelled in 55kgs, 74kgs, 84kgs and 96kgs bouts while Railways wrestlers claimed glory in 55kgs, 66kgs, 84kgs and 96kgs fights.

Semifinal results:

55kgs: Muhammad Riaz (Railways) bt Hashmat (Sindh), Haroon (Wapda) bt Azhar (Army).

60kgs: Amonial (Police) walk over against Aziz Ullah (Balochistan), Farooq (Army) bt Manga (Railways).

66kgs: Tariq Mahmood (Railways) bt Muhammad Tariq (Sindh), Muhammad Suleman (Punjab) bt Muhammad Khurshid (Wapda).

74kgs: Aamir Yaqoob (Police) bt Ghulam Yamin (Army), Muhammad Ali (Wapda) bt Muhammad Javed (Punjab).

84kgs: Muhammad Umsan (Wapda) bt Khan Muhammad (NWFP), Muhammad Shahid (Railways) bt Zahir Khan (Army).

96kgs: Hamid Khan (Railways) bt Muhammad Shoaib (Punjab), Muhammad Umar (Wapda) bt Abdul Sattar (NWFP).—APP
