HYDERABAD, Sept 17: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM nazims and councillors would be punished if they involve in corruption. He was addressing a gathering of party workers at the Pucca Qilla ground late on Friday night on the occasion of his 52nd birthday.

The MQM chief said that the newly-elected local body representatives would serve people on their doorsteps.

He urged party workers to remain committed to the party ideology, work collectively and avoid groupings among them.

Mr Hussain said the MQM had always grown stronger due to conspiracies against it.

Others who were present on the occasion were members of the Provincial Assembly Dr Arshad Shah, Aslam Pervez and Naeem Ishtiaq, in charge of the MQM coordination committee Abdul Haseeb, and in charge of the zone Siraj Rajput.
