Bail plea of murder accused dismissed

Published September 18, 2005

PESHAWAR, Sept 17: A judicial magistrate on Saturday dismissed a bail application of murder accused Arbab Khalid, resident of Tehkal. The accused had submitted a bail application with Judicial Magistrate Shah Hussain.

The prosecution opposed the bail plea on the grounds of his alleged involvement in the killing of one Arbab Shabbir in Tehkal over a property dispute on March 4.

The prosecution argued that a proper FIR had also been registered against the accused under section 302 PPC and 512 CrPC and prayed before the court to dismiss the bail application.

The defence counsel rejected the arguments of the prosecution and said his client was innocent and charges against him were baseless. He prayed before the court to grant him bail.—APP
