KARACHI, Sept 16: Two cases of kidnapping that took place earlier in the week in different parts of the city are yet to be resolved. A senior banker and two businessmen are believed to have been kidnapped from the DHA and Malir earlier in the week, sources in the CPLC said.

A senior vice-president of the NBP, Muhammad Usman Hameed, was kidnapped when he was reportedly heading to the Creek Club. Earlier, he had called his wife to wait for him at the Creek Club.

However, around midnight, his wife informed the police about his disappearance.

The police later recovered his car from the limits of Darakshan police station. Ever since his suspected kidnapping, the family and law enforcement agencies are waiting for a ransom call from the kidnappers.

Sources in the investigation told Dawn that Mr Hameed was former head of the IT Department (NBP) who was later promoted to the post of Chief Operating Officer.

Sources added that the NAB was reportedly carrying out investigation in connection with some alleged case of misappropriation in the IT Department of the NBP.

In the second case too, a ransom call is yet to be received following the kidnapping of two businessmen from Malir.

Javed Dhadabhoy and Ghulam Rasool Baloch were kidnapped from Malir near their cattle farm house.

Sources in the CPLC said both men were business partners in cattle farming.
