LARKANA, Sept 16: The Mahota police on Friday registered an FIR against eight persons of the Gaad clan on the charges of killing Saddar Khuhro who was killed on Thursday in the Akil village. Police had so far made no arrests.

Riaz Hussain Khuhro, a relative of the deceased, nominated eight, including Nizamuddain, Mohammed Ibrahim, Mohammed Anwar and Sohbat Gaad, in the murder case.

An old dispute among Narejos, Gaads, Khuhros and Mirbahars all reside in the Akil village and inside kutcha areas of the River Indus had so far claimed 19 precious lives, sources said.

On 17 July, Gaad tribesmen allegedly killed Hassan Khuhro and in retaliation the Khuhros gunned down three Gaads — Ali Gohar, Mohammed Malook and Sikandar Gaad — on August 25 in the Akil village that had further escalated tension. Moreover, this murder of Saddar Khuhro came in the wake of triple murders of the Gaad clan.

PAPERS REJECTED: Nomination papers of four candidates of the KPP, including a candidate for taluka nazim Sujawal Junejo, were rejected after scrutiny on different grounds by the concerned returning officers on Friday.

The form of Mushtaq Bhutto, KPP candidate for the taluka nazim of Sujawal Junejo, was rejected on the ground of fake signature of his seconder.

The nomination papers of Abdul Nabi Leghari, candidate for peasant/worker seat in the taluka council of Sujawal, Ali Hassan Kamalani and Abdul Qayyum Lakho, candidates on the worker seat in the taluka council of Qambar, were also rejected.

Meanwhile, Sindh minister Haji Altaf Unnar along with Qurban Abbasi, a candidate for the taluka nazim, Larkana, met Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, the chief of Sindh National Front, in the Mirpur Bhutto village on Friday.
