Five killed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Sept 15: Suspected rebels shot dead four people in occupied Kashmir while another man was killed in crossfire between militants and troops, police said on Thursday.

A police spokesman said suspected rebels shot dead three people in two incidents on Wednesday in Doda district. In Baramulla, suspected rebels killed a girl minutes after kidnapping her from her house, police said.

A civilian was killed in crossfire between rebels and security forces in Rajouri, police said. Police arrested a commander of the Lashkar-i-Taiba in Jammu.—AFP
