Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Sept 15: NWFP Governor Khalilur Rehman on Thursday promised Orakzai Agency’s feuding tribes that he would try his best to resolve their differences and ensure that every one gets justice. The governor made the pledge at a meeting with a 12-member delegation of Orakzai Agency that included elders of the Sheikhan tribe at the Governor’s House here.

The governor told the delegation that he would make every endeavour to peacefully resolve the long-standing dispute between Mishti and Sheikhan tribes.

Senator Tahir Iqbal Orakzai, secretary to the governor and secretary Fata Security Arbab Mohammad Arif and Orkazai Agency’s Political Agent Sher Alam Mehsud were present on the occasion.

The governor directed the secretary to constitute a jirga to initiate the process in consultation with the respective tribes.

While emphasising the need for maintaining a “peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in the agency”, he said that the future of the coming generations depended on it.
