NEW DELHI, Sept 14: Pakistan still controls “the flow of terror” into occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has told US President George W. Bush. Dr Singh, speaking in New York on Tuesday night, said he was “satisfied” with the peace process with Pakistan, but for “any realistic progress the flow of terror from Pakistan should stop.”
The prime minister, who was to meet Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf later Wednesday, was quoted by his media adviser Sanjaya Baru on India’s NDTV television.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency also reported that Dr Singh told Bush “that Pakistan still controls the flow of terror” into Kashmir.
Dr Singh said he was looking forward to talks with Musharraf in New York before hosting a dinner for him, PTI said.
Manmohan Singh’s remarks came in response to Bush’s queries on Kashmir during a 30-minute meeting, the news agency added.—AFP
