Arms seized in raid on Haqqani’s compound

MIRAMSHAH, Sept 14: Army troops raided a residential compound in the Dandi Derpakhel area of North Waziristan on Wednesday and arrested a suspect. The unidentified man was taken to an unknown destination for interrogation.

Tribal elders took part in the operation in which 10 houses were searched. An unspecified quantity of rockets and shells were recovered from the houses.

The security forces had raided the seminary of Commander Haqqani on Tuesday and arrested 21 suspects and seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition.

In a related development, paramilitary forces defused a bomb on the Bannu-Miramshah Road on Wednesday.
