LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 14: District and sessions judge Anwer Ali Khan on Wednesday convicted a person in a double-murder case and sentenced him to death and fined him Rs 100,000. A brother of the convict, Zarghun Shah, has been absconding and he was declared proclaimed offender. The court also issued his perpetual arrest warrants.
According to prosecution, the accused Zarghun Shah and Hidayatullah, sons of Khan Gul, residents of Kotka Shah Jehan Serai Naurang had killed a person, Khamdullah Jan, as they suspected him of trying to develop relations with their sister.
A passer-by Israfeel son of Habibur Rehman also got killed in the incident.
The court directed that the fine against the convict should be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased.
The court also ordered that the convict should pay “diyat” money to the relatives of the passer-by killed in the incident.
GIRL ABDUCTED: A girl was abducted by three persons in Sharbikhel village on Wednesday.
The accused belonged to Nowshera district, claimed the relatives of the kidnapped girl.
The police said that the girl, Hayat Bibi alias Shazia, whose wedding ceremony was scheduled for the next couple of days, had gone to the home of her relatives for showing her bridal dresses and ornaments, but she did not return to the home.
Uncle of the girl Hakim Khan has lodged an FIR with Ghaznikhel police station, stating that the accused including Zahoor Khan and Inam Shah sons of Jinnah-ud-din and Mian Zahir Shah son of Siraj-ud-Din, residents of Landi Shaikh Ismailkhel district Nowshera, had abducted his niece.
The police have registered the case against the accused under section 5-11-16/19(2) of the offence of Zina (Enforcement of Hudood) Ordinance, 1979, and have started search for the accused.
