KARACHI: Facilities for Shab-i-Bara’at at graveyards


KARACHI, Sept 14: EDO Health Dr Khalid Shaikh has directed all TMOs to ensure that people do not face any hardship in respect of cleanliness when they a visit graveyards on the occasion of Shab-i-Barat.

In his letter, the EDO has asked TMOs for immediate measures to remove encroachments, garbage, bushes, shrubs, etc from around graveyards. He has also called for whitewash of graveyards’ compound walls and provision of lime-powder in adequate quantity to graveyard inspectors.

The officers have been asked to direct secretaries of all UCs to remain present at the graveyards of their respective areas during the holy night in order to handle the situation.

They have further been directed to ensure proper arrangements for lighting and water supply. In this context, he called for repairing of out-of-order hand-pumps and replacement of those no more repairable. The TMOs have been asked to set up medical camps and see that doctors and medicines were available there.—APP
