US seeks China’s help over Iran

NEW YORK, Sept 14: US President George Bush on Tuesday night called on China to join him in trying to stop nuclear programmes in Iran and North Korea. At a formal meeting with China’s President Hu Jintao at the White House Camp office in Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Mr Bush tried to persuade the Chinese leader not to block action by the International Atomic Energy Agency next week to refer Iran’s work on uranium enrichment to the Security Council.
