Zain, Qasim help BHS lift title

KARACHI, Sept 13: Bayview High School (BHS) trounced City School (Darakshan Campus) 46-32 in the final to lift the Aga Khan University All Karachi Inter-school boys basketball trophy on Monday at AKU Sports Center.

The winners who were mostly in control of the final led 21-15 at the half time.

Zain Tariq (20 points) and Qasim Mehdi (16) played key role in their team’s success. Hammad Zafar with 11 points was the top scorer for the losers.

In the final of the girls’ event, City School (PECHS) edged out City School (Darakshan Campus) 12-11 after a thrilling battle due to excellent show by Zufa Ansari who scored eight vital points.

Earlier, City School (Darakshan Campus) overpowered Aga Khan Secondary School 45-38 to clinch the third position in a classification match of boy’s event.

Zain Tariq of BHS was declared best player of the tournament while Zufa Ansari of City School (PECHS) was named best girl of the competition.—PPI
