DADU, Sept 13: Two candidates for the taluka nazim of Mehar, Tufail Ahmed Mahessar (Awam Dost Panel) and Umed Ahmed Jatoi (Dadu Ittehad Panel), submitted their nomination papers to the returning officer of Mehar on Tuesday.

The DIP candidate for taluka nazim of Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dhani Bux Jatoi, and Imran Leghari of ADP submitted their nomination papers to the returning officer of Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka.

PARTY CHANGE: ADP nazim of UC-II Dadu town, Haji Khan Surhio, ADP councillor Arz Mohammad Magsi and vice-president PPP Dadu town Babu Surhio announced joining the ruling PML and supported DIP district nazim candidate Karim Ali Jatoi and taluka nazim Naban Khan Lund.

They announced their joining of the PML at a public gathering held in Surhio Muhallo here on Tuesday evening.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi and his brothers MPAs, Sadaqat Ali, Ihsan Ali Jatoi, DIP candidate for district nazim Karim Ali Jatoi were present on the occasion.

The federal minister said Dadu would be made a model town and added that funds would be provided to government affiliated nazims.

He announced nazims of UCs, talukas and district would be removed if they failed to provide facilities to the people.

He directed executive engineer Hesco Dadu to replace old wires and transformers.

He announced that station road and college road would be repaired.

He said electricity and road works of the Gorakh hill station would be completed within three months.

ROOF COLLAPSED: The roof of the government Boys Primary School, Johi town, collapsed on Tuesday causing injury to 12 students.

Condition of six students is stated to be critical. They were identified as Ghulam Rodhnani, Irshad Soomro, Niaz Joyo, Razzaq, Rauf and Ehsan and were admitted to a Johi hospital.

SHOT DEAD: About eight armed men barged into the house of Saifal Leghari and shot him dead in the Ibrahim Leghari village on Tuesday. The armed men held the inmates of the house hostage at gunpoint and shot dead Saifal Leghari and escaped.

Hundreds of villagers and relatives of the deceased placed the body on the Johi-Ibrahim Leghari road for two hours and demanded to arrest the killers.

MPA Dr Manzoor Leghari reached the spot and assured the protesters that the killers would be arrested.

GASTROENTERITIS: District health department, Dadu, has failed to control gastroenteritis in the town. One woman died and more than 25 patients of the disease were admitted to private hospitals on Sunday. The deceased woman was identified as Amina Panhwar.
