KARACHI: German students arrive at HEJ


KARACHI, Sept 13: A delegation of German students has arrived at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, for acquiring research training in different areas of chemical sciences.

The delegation, comprising of nine students named Norbert Robler, Christiane Schneider, Kristina Loy, Tatjana Haigis, Florain Maier, Bernhard Patzold, Johannes Harle, Jorg Braun and Hans-Hanning Schmidt, will spend three months in research training at the International Centre for Chemical Sciences (ICCS), University of Karachi.

HEJ is the only institution in the educational history of Pakistan, where more than 90 German students have visited for training purposes since 1969.

Due to quality faculty and elevated research standards of the institute hundreds of foreign students and scholars from different countries of the world, including Japan, Germany, Nigeria, Sudan, Austria, Britain, USA, Nepal, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Turkey, Egypt, and Uzbekistan etc, have acquired research training here.

The institute has the single largest doctoral programme in the country with over 180 PhD students.—PPI
