KARACHI, Sept 11: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology refused to grant two-year BA/BSc (pass) degrees to its students, enrolled in the Honours programmes. Several other public sector varsities issue two-year BA/BSc (pass) degrees to their students, enrolled in three-year bachelors (Honours) programmes.
Several students of the FUUAST on Saturday told PPI that the varsity administration had refused to issue them two-year BA, BSc (pass) degrees, arguing that there was no such provision in Urdu university’s rules and regulations.
A spokesman for FUUAST when contacted, confirmed the varsity’s refusal to issue two-year degrees, saying a decision in this regard was taken at academic council meeting, held with VC Iqbal Mohsin in the chair.—PPI
