KARACHI, Sept 11: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief, Altaf Hussain, has asked the elected representatives of local government to concentrate on development work with dedication for which resources have been put at their disposal. Mr Hussain, who was presiding over a meeting of the coordination committee members, federal and provincial ministers from Pakistan at the International Secretariat, London on Saturday, emphatically stated that he wanted to rejuvenate the movement’s basic philosophy of honesty, hard work and dedication. He said he wanted to eliminate corruption at all levels and wanted to see crime-free society from top to bottom.

“The nation has offered unprecedented sacrifices it is a national obligation upon the elected representatives to honour their sacrifices and now there is an opportunity to carry out development work in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh,” he pointed out and said that there was absolutely no excuse for delaying development programmes in the fields of health, education and building of roads, water supply, sewerage and general civic facilities for the public.

The MQM chief warned that if any Haq Parast found guilty of corruption and nepotism would not escape the disciplinary action of the movement.

“The public deserve technical training and other educational institutions in the cities,” he added and said all this could be achieved within a short span of time through team work, dedication and cooperation.
