Pakistan bans arrival of Surbajeet’s family

AMRITSAR, Sept 10: Pakistan has banned the arrival of the family of a prisoner and spy of Indian agency RAW, Surbajeet Singh, who has been sentenced to death. According to an Indian TV channel, Surbajeet’s sister said on Saturday that Abdul Hameed Rana, a lawyer in Lahore, told her that the Government of Pakistan has banned the arrival of his family in Pakistan.

She said that she was told that if Surbajeet’s family came to Pakistan it could upset the law and order situation in the country.

She added that it might create restlessness among the victim’s families of the Lahore bomb blasts in 1990 and they could react furiously against the arrival of the family.—Online
