KARACHI: 80mgd water shortfall

KARACHI, Sept 10: The city received 80mgd less water on Saturday due to disruption of power supply to KWSB’s Dhabaji, Gharo and Pipri pumping stations. According to a KWSB spokesman, the disruption of water supply would affect people in the whole city, particularly in Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Defence Housing Authority and its adjoining areas.

However, the localities getting water from Hub source, including Orangi Town, SITE Town, Baldia Town and their adjoining areas, would remain unaffected.

The spokesman further said that power supply to these three pumping stations was disrupted at 08.10 am on Saturday and was restored at 11.45am at Dhabaji, and 12.50pm at Gharo and 1.10 pm at Pipri.

He said due to power outage, sewerage system was also affected in some parts of the city. —APP
