KARACHI, Sept 10: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Saturday raided a cattle-pen being run by a police officer and recovered official weapons and equipment from the place.
On a tip off, ACE officials investigated the matter and arrested Inspector Rashid Iqbal, who was holding the charge of DSP Headquarters in SRP Gulshan base. After his arrest, the ACE raided his cattle-pen from where two Klashnikov rifles, an official vehicle (SP-6175), 25 anti-riot shields, 95 fans, 27 tyres, eight official jackets, 15 exhaust fans, 100 helmets, 95 official belts, 200 tube lights, one power generator and other equipment.
ACE Deputy Director Ali Sher Jakhrani said that the Rashid Iqbal was charged with posting 30-40 policemen at his private cattle-pen and misusing the official equipment, vehicle, and weapons. “We are investigating how many other officials were assisting him and we will arrest all those,” Mr Jakhrani added.
