Ebrahim holds up Indians

MUTARE (Zimbabwe), Sept 8: India’s Test squad were provided with unexpectedly stiff opposition by a Zimbabwe Board XI on the first day of a three-day match. Dion Ebrahim made a strong case for inclusion in the Test team by scoring an almost faultless undefeated 163 against the tourists.

Ebrahim hit a six and 25 fours and he was at the wicket for all but the first half hour of the day. The Zimbabwe Board XI finished the day on 265-7. Best of the India bowlers was Anil Kumble with 3-42 in 29 overs.—AFP
