HYDERABAD, Sept 6: Secretary of Hyderabad Sports Welfare Organisation, Faheem Baig Mughal, accused District Cricket Association (DCA) Hyderabad of ignoring talented cricket players in the ongoing PCB Inter-district Senior Cricket Championship.
In a statement on Tuesday, he said that DCA officials failed to uphold the sanctity of votes they obtained from cricket clubs by deliberately ignoring talent.
He said that Nasir Owais, who had great potential of playing national level cricket and had played an important role in helping Hyderabad qualify for the final of a domestic tournament last year, had been dropped. It was a deliberate attempt to destroy Nasir’s future, he alleged.
The DCA office-bearers had also hoodwinked the organiser and promoter, Dr Mohammad Ali Shah in the name of organising A O Academy, he said.
He said the PCB-formed organising committee had turned into a sort of unannounced ad hoc body.
It comprised of people who had always created hurdles to the promotion of the game and violated all relevant rules.
Serious differences between DCA officials had damaged the game, he added.
