Ad hoc imposed on DFAR

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: Exercising his powers, the chairman of the District Football Association, Rawalpindi, (DFAR) has appointed an ad hoc body to run the affairs and to hold elections.

Shaukat Ali Khan was named the chairman of the committee with Nasir Ali Khan as its secretary and Shahid Khan the treasurer. Two other members are Rana Tanveer Ahmed and Muhammad Akhtar.

The chairman of the association, Muhammad Usman Khan said in his notification that the affairs were not being run according to the constitution.

“The association does not have a bank account due to which the grants released by various departments could not be utilised and some were returned to them.”

He said that the association had failed to organise any activity which led to the players/officials being deprived of an opportunity to feature at the provincial and national levels.

The ad hoc committee’s tasks will be to hold elections within six months after due scrutiny of clubs, to organise a district tournament for clubs and to exercise all financial powers in accordance with the constitution.
