SUKKUR, Sept 6: Police on Monday registered a case against a business partner of MNA Khursheed Shah, a nazim, naib nazim and a councillor of Ali Wahan union council on charges of kidnapping a councillor of the Khushaal Pakistan panel.

Those named as accused include Pehlaj Rai, a leading businessman of the city, Ajmal Shah, a nominated candidate for the post of taluka nazim of Rohri from Awam Dost panel, Karim Bux Soomro, elected nazim of Ali Wahan union council, Ghous Bux, naib nazim and a councillor Nabi Bux Jiskani.

The DPO said Misri Khan, councillor of the Khushaal Pakistan lodged an FIR at the Jhangro police station in which he stated that Ajmal Shah, Pehlaj Rai, Karim Bux Soomro, Ghous Bux and Nabi Bux Jiskani whisked him in a car and drove away towards unknown place.

He said he was freed after he resisted to them.

Khursheed Shah said former district nazim Nasir Shah and Taj Mohammad Shaikh went to Ali Wahan union council and asked nazim, naib nazim and councillors to vote for Nasir Shah and on their refusal they arranged an FIR against them.

GIRL DROWNS: A five-year-old girl drowned in the Begari canal near Garhi Khairo on Tuesday. Kubra, daughter of Mohammad Nawaz Bhatti, was playing beside the canal when she was swept away by a strong current.
