ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: Justice Mohammad Akhtar Shabbir of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench is likely to take up on Wednesday the challenge to President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s ordinance promulgated to reduce the tenure of the chairman and the four members of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to three years from five.

“The case has been listed at No. 12 in the urgent supplementary cause list for Sept 7,” an associate of senior advocate Akram Sheikh told Dawn. Mr Sheikh will represent FPSC Chairman Gen (retd) Jamshaid Gulzar, and members Gul Hanif, Justice (retd) Abdur Rehman Khan, Javed Akram and Tariq Saeed Haroon before the court.
