PESHAWAR, Sept 5: A local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) was killed by his rivals near Nothia railway crossing on Monday morning, police said. Fazle Karim told West-Cantt police station that he and his brother Hamdillah, member of the ANP provincial executive committee and secretary to ANP senior Vice-President Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, were going to Bilour House on Monday morning from their residence in Nothia.
When they reached near railway crossing, they alleged, Mohsin, son of Daulat Khan and Shaukat Hayat, son of Jehangir, residents of Charkhakhel locality, opened fire on them.
As a result Hamdillah received bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Mr Karim said that they had old enmity with the accused and several persons had been killed from both sides.
The police have registered a case and started search for the accused.
