KARACHI, Sept 5: Eight vessels carrying chemical, steel and steel plates are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where eight ships, Maersk Alaska and Nefeli-1, to unload and load containers, Warbah, Orchid-2, and Bum Ju, to unload oils, Irika, to offload coal, Great Chance and Ariston, to offload DAP fertilizer, were berthed after the departure of 10.
The departing ships were led by Iran Jahanara, Wan Hai-262, Kota Waruna, Kang Fu, PONL Mahe, Corin Thaikos, Manila Bay, Maersk Alasaka, Warbah and Orchid-2, while Iika, Khairpur, Captain Adham and Nefli-1 are due to sail out on Tuesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves soared to a record level of 0.235m tons comprising 30,220 tons of export cargo and 0.205m tons of import tonnage, including 0.124m tons of liquid tonnage.
The following ships are due on Tuesday: Stolt Rindo, with chemicals, Hanjin Busan, United Prosperity, APL Jeddahm, Eax Sanctity, with containers, Perisa, with general cargo, Mirinda Rose, with steel cargo and Arosia, with steel plates.
