KHAIRPUR, Sept 4: Leaders and members of about 20 trade unions of Sukkur and Khairpur districts took out a procession against police and the district administration here on Sunday.

The protesters started the march from Phool Bagh and after passing through Panj Gulla Chowk assembled at the Chhatti Chowk.

They demanded that trader Irshad Shaikh and his driver Hameed Burdi, kidnapped from the Khairpur-Nawabshah link road on Aug 2, be recovered.

Hafiz Masroor Latif, a leader of traders’ union from Sukkur, Qutbuddin Shaikh, chairman of the Khairpur Traders Union and Hussain Bux Abbasi led the protesters.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against police.

They said the police department was not ready to register the FIR of kidnapping.

They said they would hold protest sit-in in Sukkur and Khairpur districts if the trader was not recovered within a week.
