HYDERABAD: 3,770 candidates take MUET test for 567 posts

HYDERABAD, Sept 4: The test committee of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology on Sunday conducted test of 1,610 candidates at the Public School Hyderabad and 2,160 candidates at the Public School Sukkur.

The tests were conducted for 567 posts of directors technical, deputy directors of field and administration, agriculture, assistant accounts officers, computer operators, water management supervisors, sub-engineers and office assistants on the contract basis.

The responsibility for conducting test was entrusted to the MUET by the Sindh government under the national programme for improvement of 2,900 watercourses. The total number of vacant posts is only 567 for which 3,770 candidates appeared in Hyderabad and Sukkur.

Talking to reporters, in-charge of the test committee, Prof Soomar Khatri said the university was asked to train on-farm management officers and now it had been entrusted with conducting tests for vacant seats under the national programme.

Vice-chancellor Dr Abdul Qadir Khan along with members of the vigilance committee inspected examination halls and expressed satisfaction over arrangements.

He recalled that the MUET was the first university in Pakistan which had introduced pre-admission test.

He said now the university had developed expertise to conduct tests for appointments in different organizations.
