KARACHI, Sept 4: The Pakistan Customs intercepted a passenger at airport and foiled his attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of foreign currency abroad. According to a press statement released by the Pakistan Customs (Preventive Collectorate, the customs staff was put on alert after receiving an information that a passenger was trying to smuggle foreign currency by a Dubai-bound PIA flight (PK-207).

The passenger, Jamal Yousuf, had succeeded in getting into the aircraft. He was off-loaded and thoroughly searched. As a result, 400,000 euros concealed inside his socks and shoes were recovered. The currency was seized and the suspect was arrested for violation of Customs Act 1969.
