KARACHI: ‘India should emulate Israel, quit Kashmir’

KARACHI, Sept 4: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq has said that India should learn a lesson from the recent pullout by Israeli army from Gaza Strip and withdraw its troops from Kashmir.

He was speaking as chief guest at a ceremony held here on Sunday in memory of the former president General Ziaul Haq. It was organized by the Ziaul Haq Foundation.

Ejazul Haq described the Indian forces’ atrocities in Kashmir as ‘the second biggest reign of terror in the history of the world’, adding “the first being that by Nazis against Jews.”

Pakistan is second to none when it comes to possession of defence equipment. Our country has excelled in all areas of defence, and now we can proudly say that we have much advanced missiles and other ammunition.

Lauding the role of General Zia in strengthening the Ummah, he said the late president had devoted his entire life to the cause of bringing more than one billion Muslims of the world to one platform for a collective role to be played by it in removing oppression from the world.

Referring to the Soviet invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, Ejazul Haq said that Gen Zia, without help or assistance of any other country, had played a key role in boosting the morale of the Afghan people who ultimately taught a lesson to the Soviet forces.

Consul Generals of Afghanistan, Iran and Libya were among the foreign dignitaries present on the occasion.
