Suspension orders lack substance

Published September 3, 2005

FAISALABAD, Sept 2: The suspension orders of Inspector Jamshed Iqbal Nasir issued by the IGP on the direction of prime minister and chief minister lacks substance because the official was already under suspension, it is learnt.

He was suspended from service through a notification No 1107-8/M&I on Aug 8 on the orders of the Lahore High Court.

Meanwhile, the notification of SP (Investigation) Abdullah Khalid’s suspension on the charge of patronizing Sonia’s rape issued by the IGP contravenes the fact as the official is said to be transferred and posted OSD and not suspended.

The notification No 921(81)/PS of Aug 31 reads that Chaudhry Abdullah Khalid (PP/BS-18), Faisalabad SP (investigation), is hereby transferred and posted OSD. He is directed to report to the Punjab Police Headquarters. — Correspondent
