KARACHI, Sept 2: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri’s meeting with his Israeli counter-part Silvan Shalon was condemned by the participants of various rallies held in different parts of the city outside mosques after Juma prayers.

These rallies were organized as part of a ‘black day’ observed by the participants on the call of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad.

Holding banners and placards, the participants were raising anti-Israel and anti-US and anti- government slogans. Before dispersing peacefully they were addressed by local MMA leaders Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani, Laeeq Khan, Hameedullah Khan, Yunus Barai, Nasrullah Shaji, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Allama Hasan Turabi, Shamim Pasha, kamal Farooqui and others.

They expressed their indignation over Mr Kasuri’s meeting with Israeli foreign minister which was against the sentiments of the people of Pakistan . They termed Israel a serious threat to peace in the Middle East as it has been engaged in genocide of Palestinians Muslims for more than 50 years and had unleashed a reign of terror in the region.

Referring to the joint press conference of Mr Kasuri and Israeli foreign minister they said the impression was being created by the press conference that Pakistan would soon accord recognition to Israel.

The MMA leaders said that the 140 million Pakistanis, along with Muslims in other countries of the world, would protest and resist this decision of the military rulers.
