KARACHI, Sept 2: The Sindh High Court dismissed as withdrawn on Friday a petition by former premier Benazir Bhutto’s spouse, Asif Ali Zardari, for armed guards, travel in vehicles with tinted glasses and other security precautions.
The petition, in which Mr Zardari appeared in person soon after his release and obtained interim relief, came up for hearing before a division bench, comprising Justices Ghulam Rabbani and Azizullah M. Memon. The PPP leader’s counsel said the petitioner had since proceeded abroad, he was under instructions to withdraw the petition.
The bench also allowed PPP activists Mohammad Tayyab and Ali Sher of Thatta to withdraw their petition against police harassment and dismissed it as withdrawn.—Staff Reporter
