LAHORE, Aug 31: A 54-year-old doctor allegedly raped a girl in his clinic in the Factory Area on Wednesday night. Hundreds of residents gathered at the place after the girl raised an alarm, and tried to kill the doctor who escaped from the place.

However, the doctor was later arrested by the police. The police said the girl had gone to the clinic for a check-up. After some time she came out of the clinic and raised alarm. She alleged that the doctor had raped her.

The mob blocked the road for about an hour, and dispersed after the police assured them that the doctor would be punished. The police took the doctor to the police station. The girl was taken to the police medico-legal surgeon for examination. No case has so far been registered.
