DADU, Aug 30: Sindh Dost Panel (SDP) and Khushhal Pakistan Panel have nominated Malik Changez Khan as candidate for the district nazim slot of Jamshoro district while PPP-backed ADP has nominated Malik Asad Sikandar for district nazim.
These decisions were taken at meetings of the two panels on Tuesday.
A meeting of SDP and KPP councillors and nazims was held at residence of former Sindh Assembly deputy speaker Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah.
The meeting was attended by special assistant to Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Zaman Shah, District President PML Jamshoro, Malik Changez Khan.
Sixty councillors from Sehwan, 58 Manjhand, 61 from Kotri and 19 from Thana Bula Khan besides nine nazims, naib nazims of Sindh Dost Panel and KPP also attended the meeting.
Through a consensus, it was decided that Malik Changez Khan would contest for the seat of district nazim, Jamshoro.
Malik Changez claimed that majority of the councillors were elected from the platform of KPP and SDP in Jamshoro and hoped that councillors of ADP would also support him.
Meanwhile, meetings of ADP nazims, naib nazims and councillors were held at Malik house in Thano Bula Khan and Kotri on Tuesday.
The meetings were also attended by the PPP leaders. Speaking at the meeting, Malik Asad Sikandar said that out of 28 UCs in the district, ADP had won 19 UC nazim seats.
He said that a majority of councillors was elected on the platform of ADP and said that he would form the district government.
He said that ADP nazims and naib nazims would be elected in Kotri, Sehwan, Thano Bula Khan and Manjhand talukas.
He said that police were conducting raids at the houses of ADP councillors, nazims and naib nazims to change their loyalty.
He said that a number of fictitious cases were registered at different police stations of the district against PPP and ADP leaders and councillors and police were putting pressure on them to support KPP candidate for the district nazim.
