SAHIWAL, Aug 30: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will be organized in the NWFP, Balochistan and Punjab. After completion of the organizational setup, the party will shift its central secretariat to Islamabad.
This was stated by Punjab organizing committee members Col Tahir Husain Mashadi (retired) and Muhammad Nauman Sehgal while talking to the press here on Tuesday.
They said extremists were defeated and moderates succeeded in recent local government elections in Karachi. They claimed that the MQM would soon emerge as a powerful political force in three provinces.
In Punjab, they said, the organizing MQM leaders had been nominated by Altaf Husain who, besides them, included Abdul Qadir Khanzada, federal parliamentary secretary MNA Muhammad Ali and Omer Daraz of the labour wing.
On this occasion, they announced the launching ceremony of the organizational setup for Sahiwal. Farzana Kausar of the ruling PML announced her joining of the MQM. Former MPA Khan Muhammad and PPP (minority wing) president Dilbar Jaani also reportedly joined the MQM.
They said policies of the MQM had convinced them to join it.
