Inquiry into escape of women from Darul Aman

By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Aug 30: A probe into the escape of 15 women along with their nine children from Darul Aman has been started and the entire staff transferred by the competent authority.

Reports said these women quarrelled with the superintendent for not providing them meal and milk for their children. Later, they broke the window of a washroom and escaped along with their children.

The district administration constituted four teams for the recovery of these women, but only one of them identifiedas Razia Bibi was recovered from her village, Bhatti Bhango.

Police produced her before the local court and sent her to Darul Aman again on a judicial remand.

CNICs: The National Database and Registration Authority has banned the issuance of women computerized identity cards without photograph, it is learnt here.

Nadra has directed the district registration authorities to get prepared photographs of women with white colour background instead of blue.

Reports said Nadra had also directed all registration offices to avoid photographs of men in turban or cap.

However, cap made of thread usually used by Haj pilgrims is allowed.

New machines and modern cameras have been provided to all registration offices throughout the province.
