Sailing trials from Sept 2

KARACHI, Aug 29: Two-day open trials to select Pakistan team for the South Asian Yachting Regatta (Enterprise class) will commence at the PN aquatic club on Sept 2, secretary, Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) Capt S. V. Hasan said on Monday.

Holders Pakistan will enter three boats in the triangular team racing competition while top four sailors will vie in the individual event.

Meanwhile, selection trials to pick Pakistan Optimist team for the team as well as individual championship, concluded on Monday.

According to the PSAF secretary, Pakistan will field two teams, each comprising of four sailors, besides the individual competition, in the event which are being organized simultaneously.

Hasan said PSA Fselection committee would meet on Sept 3 to finalize both the teams.

India and Sri Lanka are the other two countries who will feature in the regional regatta which is being held at the Marina Club from Sept 8 to 11.
