QUETTA, Aug 28: Polling was held amid tight security in 25 union councils of Qila Abdullah district in the second phase of local body elections on Sunday. No untoward incident was reported from any union council as over 10,000 personnel of law- enforcement agencies were deployed in the district. There were, however, a few minor incidents in which nine people were slightly injured.

“Situation remained completely under control and polling process terminated peacefully,”an official of Qila Abdullah told Dawn.

The border with Afghanistan remained closed.
