NAWABSHAH, Aug 28: The adviser to the Sindh chief minister for information, Salahuddin Haider, has alleged that Haq Parast nazims and councillors are being threatened by the People’s Party Parliamentarians in the district.
He said candidates of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement had won the local body elections in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur and would now form governments in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Mr Haider said it had become a political culture that when a party lost elections it started blaming the government for it.
He said no casualty was reported during the first phase of polls due to strict security measures taken by the Sindh government.
He said a man was killed in Khairpur during the second phase.
He pointed out that killings in Larkana were result of a conflict between two biradaris and had no link with the polls.
The adviser said people were deprived of their basic rights since 58 years and would continue to suffer if the feudal system was not eliminated.
